snow days
The last week has brought Portland's worst weather in ten years. Anyone who has ever lived with real snow and ice will scoff, but we were closed down for several days by a couple feet of snow. Actually, down by the river we only got about ten inches all told, plus a couple of days of sleet. The view above is from the window in my office, last Monday before we started taking snow days. The view below is from a window in the lab, looking across downtown Portland towards Mt St Helens (which is, of course, not visible).
A few more: Two views of Mac Hall; my lab is in the building on the far left of the second shot. The first shot was taken in October last year.
The footpath outside our apartment block, after two days of snow: See what I have to put up with? Calvin would approve, I'm sure. Performance art in Pioneer Square: Comments |
