Yesterday and today, I spent about half an hour deleting (by hand; MT is nice, but it lacks some sorely needed functionality) some of the most vile comment spam I've seen. Rape, incest and bestiality are this scumbag's specialties, according to the comment titles and links. A WHOIS lookup on the domains entered in the url field gives this:

Spencer, I've no idea how you could fix that. Sorry mate, but I know about as much about all that computer voodoo as our pal Emil does about ethics. I see you're on AOL, so I think your best bet would be to call their tech support.
I found the same hairbag sniffing around my site the other day. Banned him for good from even viewing the site.
I think those guys are making more damage than any looney world leader ever had.
They should ge punishment equal of the damage they made. In this case, I'd love to rip off their both hands. Yet, this would also prevent similar incidents to happen in future...

Are you familiar with the MT-Blacklist plugin? It's really helped my spam problem significantly. In fact, I've had very few comment spams make it through its filter since I installed it a few months ago. And those that *do* make it through, I blacklist so that they're never a problem again...
